Student & Apprentice Opportunities

As a Company dependent on maintaining and continuing a high level of engineering skills, we feel that it is essential that we support and encourage youngsters to take up a career in engineering. Over 12 years, Barrus has offered paid year-long work experience placements to around 18 young students from Oxfordshire-based universities.

Students work within our Research and Development department alongside experienced staff and are involved with R&D projects, product design and testing and CAD drawing all within a production environment. Past students have found the experience valuable insight into the world of work, which has helped them achieve their final grades and improve their employability significantly after completing their studies. We are pleased to say that a large majority of students are now working with us full-time.
