The Garden Tools and Accessories Division offers an extensive range of quality garden hand tools, accessories and powered products from the well-respected brands of WOLF-Garten, Wilkinson Sword, Town & Country and Energizer.

Modern Tool and Die Company (MTD), based in Ohio, Cleveland, acquired the WOLF-Garten brand in 2009 and appointed Barrus distributors for the UK. MTD has continued to strengthen and develop the range of products throughout Europe, building a reputation as one of the most popular brands of garden tools. Starting with the introduction of the innovative draw hoe over 80 years ago, WOLF-Garten’s philosophy has been to provide products of premium quality and performance that help make gardening easier and more enjoyable. The innovative multi-change® garden tool system is a clear example of this with a range of tool heads and handles suitable for any type of gardening task.

In 2010, Barrus secured a trademark licence agreement with Wilkinson Sword Ltd (a wholly owned subsidiary of Energizer Holdings Inc.) to use this established and well-respected brand name to sell and market a range of quality garden tools. This totally unique range has been designed to meet the expectations of the brands existing loyal customer base and to appeal to gardeners looking for recognisable garden tools of excellent quality.

The success with Wilkinson Sword has seen a new distribution arrangement with the Energizer Group Ltd, to supply the Energizer range of batteries and torches. In September 2019, Energizer launched a range of 20V lithium-ion powered garden products to sit alongside its core range. All 6 products in the range are powered by the same interchangeable battery.

In 2017, Barrus further expanded its presence in the garden sector with the acquisition of the gardening gloves and footwear company, Town & Country. The Town & Country brand offers one of the most comprehensive collections of gardening gloves and footwear that combines quality, functionality and style with exceptional value for money.

All brands are sold through national and independent retailers and all leading garden centres.
