Shire Workboat Range

The Shire Workboat Range the range consists of 12 models from 15hp to 130hp. 40hp, 50hp, 70hp and 85hp models.

The 15hp (11kW), 20hp (15kW), 25hp (18kW) and 30hp (22kW) models are ideally suited to small fishing craft and patrol launches.

One of the main features of these models is the flexibility to fit a choice of different gearbox types including PRM mechanical and hydraulic, ZF and Technodrive down angle gearboxes. An engine oil sump pump comes as standard with the option of basic, standard or deluxe instrument panels. Other features include a serviceable raw water pump fitted as standard or the choice of a crankshaft-driven raw water pump plus uprated alternators.

The new workboat range complements Barrus’s existing line-up of workboat engines from Yanmar and John Deere offering the commercial user an even greater choice of engines from 15hp to 750hp.

There are a number of optional accessories available including exhaust options, gearbox upgrades and complete hydraulic packages. With the added benefit of longer service intervals than many other engine brands, the Shire range represents outstanding value for money.

All Shire engines are custom-built in Barrus’ modern engineering and production facilities to the highest quality standards laid down by ISO9001-2008. Extensively tested by dynamometers, each engine is tuned, test run with a full delivery inspection prior to despatch to the customer.
