Workshop Mechanic.

The Role

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Workshop Mechanic to join our Production team. This is a hands‑on role working with high‑quality engines and products, where attention to detail, pride in workmanship, and a strong commitment to health and safety are essential.

As a Workshop Mechanic, you will be responsible for producing, assembling, repairing and overhauling engines and products to the required quality standards. Working from build instructions and company procedures, you will play a key role in supporting efficient workshop operations and contributing to continuous improvement within the production team.

You will manage your own workload, take responsibility for workshop tools and equipment, and help maintain a safe, clean and well‑organised working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, assemble, repair and overhaul engines and products in line with build standards, special instructions and procedures.
  • Accurately record working hours using the company time and attendance system.
  • Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
  • Always follow company health & safety policies and safe working practices.
  • Drive company vehicles when required to collect or deliver parts, consumables or equipment.
  • Support the wider team by taking on additional tasks aligned to your skills and experience.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • A recognised apprenticeship or relevant qualification in internal combustion engine maintenance, engineering or marine engineering.
  • Practical experience working in a busy workshop or production environment.
  • Good working knowledge of 4‑stroke petrol and diesel engines.
  • An understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • A proactive approach with good attention to detail and time management skills.

Qualifications & Desirable Skills

  • Marine engine knowledge (specific training can be provided).
  • Counter‑balanced forklift operator’s certificate.
  • Proven pride in producing high-quality engineering results.
