Barrus Appoints New Area Sales Manager for Marine Equipment Division

Barrus is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Henery as Area Sales Manager (Scotland & North of England) for the Marine Equipment Division.

Ian began his career in the marine industry in 1990, working for Fox and Hounds Marine in Newcastle upon Tyne, before moving to TridentUK in Gateshead to take up a role as Chandlery Shop Manager. 

In 2003, Ian moved to Scotland to help set up Marinac, a marine distribution company based in Glasgow. In early 2012 Marinac was acquired by Aquafax, and he continued as Depot Manager overseeing the running of the Glasgow depot until December 2022.

Ian says about his new role, “I have a longstanding passion for sailing and boats, which influenced my career path from an early age. Having worked in the marine industry for 33 years in retail and distribution environments, I bring a high level of product and technical knowledge to my new role.” 

Ian continued, “I’m excited to join such a highly respected company. I look forward to building relationships with existing customers, providing technical support and developing new business for Barrus in the North of the UK.”

In his new role, Ian will support Barrus’s well-established network of marine dealers and promote the extensive Barrus Marine Equipment range, which includes brands such as Autosol, Barton, Bostik, Glomex, Guidi, MG Duff, International Paints, SEAFLO, Simrad, plus many more.
