How do they work?
protect homes and businesses with 24/7 power
With today's modern lifestyles relying on power for everyday essentials, and the increase in home working as a consequence of COVID-19, the impact on businesses can be extremely disruptive and costly.
Figures from Ofgem for the period April 2018 to March 2019, reported that there were over 1 million unplanned power cuts in the UK affecting around 13 million customers. A significant power cut across the UK in August 2019, caused 300,000 homes and businesses to lose power, affecting a total of 1 million people.
Why choose Briggs & Stratton
When it comes to protecting your home and family, you want peace of mind. You want a standby generator that will not fail you and those you love, when you need it most. You’re looking for trust, reliability, and advanced technology born of a commitment to innovation.
What is a standby generator?
In simple terms, a standby generator is permanently installed outside of the home or business by a licensed contractor and connected to the natural gas supply or liquid propane providing continuous power in a power outage or blackout.
How does a standby generator work?
Continuously at the ready, the system senses when mains power goes down. Within seconds, the automatic transfer switch seamlessly transfers the electrical circuits and appliances to backup power. Once the generator senses that mains power is back online, power reverts to mains supply and the standby generator is shut down until needed the next time.
