Based in Coventry, Key Services is a family-owned business established by William Jordan in 1975 and now run by his son, James Jordan. Celebrating 25 years working in the business, James completed an apprenticeship in automotive products and toolmaking becoming a fully qualified engineer and then spent his first 10 years in sales for the company. He was also a keen professional cricketer playing County Cricket for Warwickshire Juniors before moving up to the Men’s league.

Today, the business provides a range of products including vibrating pokers, poker drive units, compactor plates, engines, and pumps, with repair and reconditioning as a key focus.  James is a great ambassador for Loncin and explained, “We know how important speed is to the construction business and our team focuses on keeping our most popular small petrol engines continuously in stock. Our main partner is Loncin who manufacture reliable and efficient small petrol engines for numerous industries. Key Services customers are nationwide, but a large proportion of their business is with concrete formwork companies based in London who use their high-frequency poker sets in the process of concrete compaction. These sets are powered by one of the most popular Loncin generators, the LC3500-AS.

Loncin G200F-G engines have also been incorporated into a mechanical package designed and built by Key Services which includes the generator and the vibrating poker unit.

As well as local builders and sub-contractors, Key Services also supply Jewson Builders Merchants nationwide with Loncin engines and spares.

Promoting the business has always been important to James, and he has invested in an e-commerce website not only presenting a professional shop window but also offering information and practical advice in the form of blogs. He is also using social media channels to engage with his customers and to promote a wide range of products and services the company has available.
