HiSun electric UTVs - essential workers on the Isle of Ulva

HiSun electric UTVs have been a welcome introduction to the Isle of Ulva, purchased as part of the island's Clean Energy Transition Plan, an initiative of the European Commission to work and provide funding for the clean energy transition of more than 2,200 inhabited European islands.

Located off the west coast of Mull, Ulva is an island of outstanding natural beauty that is just 12 km long and 4km wide. Cars have been all but banished, and the human touch is light. Inhabited for over 7000 years, In its heyday, Ulva played host to an illustrious line of famous people, including Beatrix Potter and Boswell & Johnson, on their tour of Scotland. Ulva is also known as the birthplace of one of the founding fathers of modern Australia.

HiSun dealer Offroad Electric, based in Oxfordshire, supplied the electric UTVs, a HiSun Vector E1 and a Sector 5 kW lithium-ion model, to the community of Ulva. Offroad Electric also services the two UTVs, which involve an epic trip with 27 hours of driving and four ferry rides.

The HiSun UTVs have been put to good use by the island's garden volunteers. Marc Monserratt, Director of Off-road Electric, explained, “From our discussions, we know that the islanders absolutely love them, and they don’t know what they would have done without them. The Sector 5 kW Sector has already clocked up more miles than the Vector, even though it’s less than half its age!”
